HI all,

I'm Dave Bapst, and I'm not yet a certified carpentry instructor. I've been
trying to complete checkout since participating in instructor training in
April. I've now set aside time to participate in two instructor
discussions, both of which the listed hosts did not appear for (at least
with the first one, the host later emailed to say there had been an
emergency). At the moment, I'm back in limbo, waiting for another available
section that will coincide with my schedule. I understand that there may be
emergencies, and I understand that certified instructor's time is limited,
but perhaps it would ideal to recommend that discussion sections have
co-hosts, so to minimize cancelled discussion sections?

Also, is there anything that participants can do that would be
constructive, if the host isn't present? It seems silly to get a bunch of
us in a chat room, but not have anything to discuss other than who is going
to email the host.

Cheers,
-Dave
