*POSITION: *Project coordinator

*POSITION SUMMARY:*

Maelstrom Research (https://www.maelstrom-research.org/) is a scientific
platform based at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health
Centre (RI MUHC). The team is specialized in the development of methods and
software supporting the data documentation, harmonization and integration
across large epidemiological studies. The Maelstrom group coordinates the
implementation of a catalog documenting more than 180 studies as well as
the variables collected (770 000 variables) by a subset of these studies.
Maelstrom Research is also involved in the generation of very large
harmonized datasets integrating data across national and international
cohort studies. The multidisciplinary team, currently composed of 14
members, is looking for a person, who will coordinate two research projects
achieved in collaboration with European partners.

*FUNCTIONS AND ATTRIBUTIONS:*

Under the supervision of the director of the Maelstrom Research group, the
selected candidate will perform the following tasks:


   -

   Ensure the coordination of the EUCanSHARE et EUCanCONNECT projects,
   including the management of the scientific, technical and administrative
   aspects of the projects;
   -

   Supervise the development of some informatic and methodological tools
   (e.g. semi-automatized data harmonization);
   -

   Supervise the technical work required by the project, including
   cataloguing of metadata and data harmonization (e.g. transform
   study-specific data under a common format);
   -

   Ensure good collaboration and appropriate support to the national and
   international partners involved in the project;
   -

   Participate in the redaction of grants applications, scientific papers
   and reports.

*REQUIREMENTS :*

   -

   PhD in Data Science, epidemiology, biostatistics or related field, or
   master's degree with at least 5 years of experience;
   -

   Ability to communicate verbally and write in French and English;
   -

   Ability to interact with international partners;
   -

   Experience in data management, scientific writing (articles, reports)
   and communication of research results;
   -

   Knowledge of basic concepts in epidemiology;
   -

   Good knowledge of the ‘’R’’ statistical software (and other statistical
   software);
   -

   Excellent capacity to communicate and work in team;
   -

   Experience in software development would be a major asset;
   -

   Autonomy, leadership and dynamism.

*WORKING CONDITIONS*:

*Status: *Full-time, one-year contract with possibility of renewal

*Pay Scale:* Subject to personal qualifications, remuneration respecting
the salary scale of the RI MUHC (including insurances and other social
benefits)
