Dear colleagues,

A large number of community members have reached out to me and others over
the past few years to discuss the Carpentries in Nigeria.

I have struggled to bring everyone together to help facilitate a
conversation where those who are collocated or able to travel to nearby
locations, can find out about each other and connect.

In 2016 we used a Github issue to mobilise a community of mentors to assist
with African instructor guidance. Maybe we can do something similar for
Nigeria now.

I have created a Github issue in the African Task Force repo. The way that
I see it, is that there will be more regional community efforts as the
Carpentries grow, so maybe this is a model for others?

If you are in or from Nigeria or just interested to help making a workshop
in Nigeria happen, please can you comment on the issue at
https://github.com/carpentries/african-task-force/issues/2.

You will need to create a FREE Github account to participate in the
discussion.

If you have any questions or comments, please add them on the issue or
email us at [email protected].

Thanks everyone!

Kind regards,

Anelda
