Hi all, We've got an opening for a Software Engineer to join the Informatics Hub at the University of Sydney.
We're a (fun!) team of ~30 mostly-science-PhDs, research engineers and statisticians. We work on heaps of diverse projects with researchers from across all faculties; to get an idea, see here <https://informatics.sydney.edu.au/projects/>. The main responsibility of this role will be to develop and implement custom software to support whatever requests researchers throw at us. A few of us are Carpentries instructors, and there is the possibility/likelihood of being involved in training (which is what I oversee). If you have extensive experience with research computing and software engineering, know how to talk to researchers and translate their requirements to software solutions, and like to be constantly challenged - you'd probably be a good fit for this role. The formal job advertisement is here <https://www.seek.com.au/job/39024185> - please don't hesitate to contact us for more information. Best wishes, Darya Please note: This job does not formally report to me. I'm sharing because SIH has proven to be an enjoyable place to work, at least for me. --- Darya Vanichkina PhD | Data Analytics Trainer & Data Scientist Sydney Informatics Hub | Core Research Facilities THE UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY Ground Floor, 32 Queen St Chippendale | The University of Sydney | NSW | 2006 E [email protected] | W sydney.edu.au Training calendar: https://bit.ly/2C6OXiw | Mailing list: https://bit.ly/2FYeYny | Request training: https://bit.ly/2UpYZ5d ------------------------------------------ The Carpentries: discuss Permalink: https://carpentries.topicbox.com/groups/discuss/T4a9f654e421f76d6-M16dd3c21d40831362b737907 Delivery options: https://carpentries.topicbox.com/groups/discuss/subscription
