Mirawan, spaces are particularly a pain if you want to use anaconda from the git
bash terminal. It's not only in the case of the user name, it is also common 
when
you get it installed under "Program Files" or similar Windows directory.

In my case, where the system has been installed by the system administrators for
the university computers I had to create a new file that every student has to
download and put it on a particular directory and load it from their
bash_profile. That file is a version of conda.sh, where I'm using alias instead
of a variable name they provide.

For this coming academic year I've asked the system administrators to directly
install anaconda under c:\anaconda or similar as Gerard suggests.

That said, I've not found any problem using the notebooks or any app provided
by anaconda or using cmd prompt.
