*Applications are now open for the Software Sustainability Institute Fellowship
Programme 2020! Deadline for applications is 29th October 2019.*

The Programme funds researchers and individuals who are passionate about
improving research software use and/or development in their areas of work. We
empower Fellows to talk to a wider audience about the role of software in their
research domain, and to develop communities around the skills they learn. They
can network with others who share their interests and learn new skills that
benefit both themselves and their collaborators.

Each Fellow is allocated £3,000 to spend over fifteen months. The funding is
flexible to support activities that are beneficial to both the Fellows’ and the
Institute's aims, for example to fund travel to conferences, to setup and run
workshops, to nurture and contribute to communities of practice, and other
activities.

*How to apply*

General information about the Fellowship Programme and the application process
can be found on the Fellowship Programme website
(_https://www.software.ac.uk/programmes-and-events/fellowship-programme_). You
can also find a detailed blog post
(_https://www.software.ac.uk/blog/2018-12-07-applications-software-sustainability-institute-fellowship-programme-2019-are-now_)
on the application process for the 2019 Fellowship Programme which still
applies for 2020.

Over the next few weeks, we'll be sharing more tips on how to apply and
experiences from our Fellows. Keep an eye out for those and save the date for
our Launch Webinar which takes place on Friday, 11th October 2019 from
15:00-16:00 BST!
