Dear Anelda / Deborah

We will be happy to assist with the workshop in Uganda. I have looped in my
colleague Esther who is also part of the capacity building team on biodiversity
informatics

Regards

Hi Anelda,

Great to see this thread and happy to help if I can. Maybe some of the Kenyan
folks, who attended the Data Carpentry workshop in 2015 in Nairobi, might be
potential helpers or instructors.

Rwanda: Prosper Karame, Rwanda Medical Research Centre - Rwanda Biomedical
Center, Regulatory Affairs Senior Officer
Kenya: Lawrence Monda ICT Mgr, National Museums of Kenya
(both cc'd) for contact in case of interest in pursuing this.

Best,
Deb

Dear colleagues,

I was fortunate to meet Prof Alexandre Lyambabaje and Ben Ruhinda, respectively
the Executive Secretary and Senior Systems Officer of the Inter-University
Council for East Africa (www.iucea.org) recently.

They were both very interested in bringing the Carpentries to Uganda (where
they are both based) but also broader to their network.

Is there anyone in this community who is interested to work with them to get a
Carpentries workshop off the ground to start off with? I know there are often
international instructors already collaborating with various countries on the
African continent and was hoping we could capitalise on an existing
network/collaboration and expand on that.

(Also copied Daniel Ouso and Prof Patrick Weke from Kenya in the hope that
there can be cross-fertilisation between Kenya/Uganda).

Looking forward to hearing from interested people.

Kind regards,

Anelda
