Dear All, We are looking for members of The Carpentries community who are interested in helping to bring the Data Carpentry Image Processing with Python curriculum <https://datacarpentry.org/image-processing/> to a stable, published state. The lesson has been in development for a few years and is already a very good resource for those looking for an introduction to the skills needed when working with image data. This in an opportunity to help shape a lesson that will teach in-demand skills to a large audience of learners.
## How can you help? The lesson is currently in an alpha state: it has been successfully taught on several occasions by the community members who have developed the content up to this point, with feedback incorporated after each pilot workshop. The purpose of this message is to call for community members with relevant background knowledge who would like to 1. help implement some final touches to the lesson material, addressing open issues and any other improvements as they desire. 2. act as a Maintainer of the lesson after it has passed through beta testing and been published. ## How will you be supported? In both cases, you will be supported in this work by members of the Curriculum Team. Anyone wishing to become a Maintainer for the lesson will be invited to join the upcoming round of Maintainer Onboarding, expected to begin in mid-July. If you are interested in contributing in either or both of the ways described above, or if you would like any more information, please get in touch with me ([email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>) before the end of Sunday 19 June. Please include a brief summary of your relevant experience with Python and/or working with image data. ## How will your contribution be acknowledged? All contributors to the development of the lesson will be listed as an author when the publication is made on Zenodo; Maintainers will be listed as editors.
