The Executive Council <https://docs.carpentries.org/topic_folders/governance/bylaws.html#executive-council> is the governance body for The Carpentries, and is responsible for strategic and organizational planning. The members of the Executive Council serve two year terms, and are elected as either Council-elected or Community-elected members. You are all encouraged to nominate yourself or another individual you see as a potential EC member. This year elections are for two community-elected seats, which are selected by all voting members of The Carpentries community. In addition, the EC is looking for recommendations to fill two Council-elected seats, which will be elected by the EC. Both of the nominations are to be filled before *Oct 18th*. Elections will run from the 3rd to the 10th of November.
