[Please excuse cross-postings] *We are pleased to announce that we are accepting applications for a permanent position at the Odum Institute at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill! *
The Research Data Systems Archivist is a new position funded by the UNC Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research (OVCR). In 2021, the OVCR accepted a proposal from the Odum Institute to hold a campus-wide competition that will invite researchers to submit applications for specialized data support services provided by the Odum Data Archive and Research Data Information Systems (RDIS) teams. Proposals describing research data with unmet data management needs will be selected in order to address critical gaps in existing campus resources. Participating in the research and development of new archival workflows and technologies to support winning proposals will be the first of the Research Data Systems Archivist’s many valuable contributions. This position is an exciting opportunity for someone who can bring their expertise in research data and systems development to the Archive team. We are looking forward to extending our capabilities to provide more specialized data support services while also strengthening our collaboration with the RDIS team on archival infrastructure and workflow research and development projects. If you are interested in joining a team working creatively to advance research data management and curation practices, please see the posting at the link below and apply today! https://unc.peopleadmin.com/postings/221668 Please share this opportunity with anyone who may be interested. If you have any questions about the position, please don't hesitate to contact me! Many thanks for your help, Cheryl -------- *Cheryl A. Thompson, PhD* Research Data Archivist H. W.
