Greetings everyone, The elections for the 2023 Executive Council for The Carpentries have now concluded. We are grateful to the entire community for participating, whether through standing for election, recommending candidates, or submitting ballots.
For the community-elected positions, 1386 ballots were distributed to Voting Members and 356 ballots were cast (25.7% turnout). The two candidates receiving the highest number of votes and joining the Executive Council for two-year terms as community-elected members were Jannetta Steyn and Sarah Stevens. The Executive Council received recommendations for three individuals for the council-elected positions, from whom they elected John Chodacki, Nisha Ghatak and Michael Smith. These new members join continuing members Yanina Bellini Saibene, Annajiat Alim Rase, Abdulai Imoro and Konrad Förstner on the 2023 Executive Council of The Carpentries. Many thanks to Aleksandra Nenadic and Masami Yamaguchi, who are transitioning out of the Executive Council after two years of service.
