Hi everyone, As announced on The Carpentries blog today, the Curriculum Advisory Committee for Data Carpentry: Ecology is calling for Instructors to test out a redesigned version of the Data Analysis and Visualization in R for Ecologists lesson <https://carpentries-incubator.github.io/R-ecology-lesson-alternative/>. The aim of this call for beta pilots is to gather feedback that will help them decide whether to adopt this redesigned version to replace the lesson currently in the Ecology curriculum <https://datacarpentry.org/R-ecology-lesson>.
If you are an Instructor planning to teach the Ecology curriculum, or the R lesson specifically, please read the blog post <https://carpentries.org/blog/2023/07/r-ecology-alt-beta/> and consider using this alternative lesson version in your workshop. Then provide feedback (on the repository <https://github.com/carpentries-incubator/R-ecology-lesson-alternative/issues/new?assignees=&labels=type:discussion&projects=&template=pilot_workshop_feedback.yml&title=%5BPilot+workshop+feedback%5D:+> or by email <mailto:[email protected]>) to the Curriculum Advisors, reflecting on your experience. This is an opportunity for Instructors to have an even greater impact on the Data Carpentry program, by helping to determine the direction of one of the most popular Carpentries curricula. If you are curious to learn more about the redesigned lesson and the process of development that has brought it to the beta pilot stage, please read the post published earlier today: Beta Testing an Alternative Version of R Ecology lesson <https://carpentries.org/blog/2023/07/r-ecology-alt-beta/> Thanks, Toby, Adriana, Jen, Mike, Reinder, and Sichong ------------------------------------------ This list is for the purpose of general discussion about The Carpentries including community activities, upcoming events, and announcements.
