Dear Carpentries Colleagues,

Could we please spell out abbreviations? I have no idea what OSG is, and
neither of the two emails below nor the website that the email directs us
to for more information explains it.

I appreciate the invitations to new arenas, but when I am an outsider to
that community I don’t feel like I can understand without being told what
it is.

I love the way The Carpentries foregrounds novice-ness and inclusivity, and
I think this is a way we could keep that principle in the way we talk to
each other via cp-discuss. I understand that no other listserv expects that
kind of care when posting, so I realize no malice or exclusivity was
intended here.

Open for dialogue,
Lisa
