The call for the rOpenSci Champions Program 2025 <https://ropenscilabs.github.io/ChampionsProgram/> in Spanish edition is open.
* *Champions:* We are looking for people who work in STEAM, who are from or work in Latin America, who have a good oral and written command of the Spanish language and who already have knowledge and experience developing with R. * *Mentors:* we are looking for people who have previous experience developing, maintaining, or contributing to R packages (at rOpenSci is even better), or have participated in the rOpenSci review process or another peer code review project. It is also important that they are willing to guide and teach other people and work collaboratively. Over the course of 12 month, Champions will receive training, individual mentoring in the development of an open source project, an annual stipend, and the opportunity to participate in various community building and strengthening activities. Mentors will support champions in these activities and also will receive training and a annual stipend.
