Thanks Alexander, we will put some time into this very soon.
We also hope to find the time to prepare the public git repos for out userland
and desktop components,
so to contribute with our own patches.
Last question: do you think I have some workaround to the pkg publisher problem
during zoneadm attach
without upgrading at the moment?

Ours is not actually a fork, it's been an updated pull from Oracle repo until

So, we will be more than glad to start again pkg as a fork from omnios or oi
repo.
Questions:
- Do you think it's better to start from omnios or oi one?
I think it's better to start from OI, it's a bit more up-to-date.
Contains new fixes (and bugs). But I'm biased.
- Will I need to rebuild my dev and release repos that were built with an old
pkgrepo and pkgrecv commands?
We didn't have to rebuild repository during last summer update, don't
remember if it was the case for the first IPS update in 2013.
- What about pkg names? Will I end up with the same packages just updated?
I think so. You can check. I'm surprised that your IPS misses src/brand
sources. It's a question where does your ipkg brand come from.
One major distinction between OI and OmniOS IPS:
OI defaults to linked images and has nlipkg brand,
OmniOS defaults to non-linked images and has lipkg brand.
To add additional brands (lipkg or nlipkg) besides adding brands you'll
have to patch usr/src/lib/libbe/common/libbe_priv.h as it has hard-coded
list of brands, known to libbe.
