Am attempting to compile R on oi_151.1.2 X86 (powered by illumos) Assembled 09 February 2012 and coming to the same error as in https://www.illumos.org/issues/1566 which is closed as a duplicate of https://www.illumos.org/issues/1182 and has similarities to https://www.illumos.org/issues/2148 Feeding "iconv" into the website search re-assures me its not my stupidity (this time)
Are we close to a solution here or is there a workaround (I see mention of GNU iconv) ?
