Hi, At home I use OpenDJ on a VM with 512MB. Most of the configuration is stored in the LDAP data store, with a GUI for tweaking and adding entries. If you look on their wiki, they have instructions for adding it to SMF. I have found it to be small enough, and has all the features I need for light use. Also it already has all the Solaris and related schema/attributes defined, such as for root profile assignment of users. I have found some gotchas when setting it up and integrating to other VMs--ask if you get stuck.
