Does Oracle own "SPARC", or just the only company doing SPARC

Obviously, Fujitsu has *not* pulled out of the SPARC space. They have
been designing new interesting SPARC CPUs and last I checked (couple
of months ago), the fastest computer in the world uses SPARC CPUs.
While Fujitsu likely has full access to Solaris 11 sources, they may
very well have an interest in the Illumos effort even if they are
smart enough not to express this interest while they still have a
close relationship with Oracle. Oracle does not seem to have an
interest in the type of large systems that Fujitsu is building since
Oracle is primarily interested in Oracle-designed T-series SPARC and
running the Oracle application stack.

this.
Remember, all the M-class systems that Sun and Oracle sell are simply
re-badged Fujitsu systems. As in, *literally* re-badged. :-)
Frankly, really soon now I expect that Fujitsu will be the only source
for SPARC-based general-purpose systems, as soon as Oracle gets through
telling their customer base that they're Soooo Sorry, Please Migrate.
I got the very, very strong feeling while at Oracle that the faster they
could exit the general-purposes systems market, the better.
