My computer builder is putting a system together for me based on the
Supermicro X9DAi motherboard
(http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/Xeon/C600/X9DAi.cfm)
and with development OpenIndiana (several months old Illumos)
pre-installed.
Thinking about Illumos driver availability, I also selected LSI
9211-8i SAS, Qlogic QLE2562 Fibre Channel, and and a nVidea Quadro
Fermi 4000 video card. Boot is from a pair of SATA drives.
This is what my computer builder tells me is still not supported by
development OpenIndiana on this motherboard:
USB 3.0 chip
C600 chipset thermal management
Last 4 ports of the onboard SATA controller
I am told that the audio driver (RealTek ALC889 7.1 High Definition
Audio) "works" but that audio goes away sometimes.
The CPU thermal management seems to work fine.
I am surprised about the SATA port issue. This would be a major issue
for someone who thinks that they can avoid the lack of Intel C606 SAS
driver by selecting the Intel C602 SATA chipset.
