Oggetto: Re: [discuss] supported SAS Adapter substituting failing Adaptec

following a previous discussion where I had failures on a zpool running over an

I'm in the process of changing this adapter with another brand.
The other adapter running perfectly on the machine, is an Areca one.
I thought to get another Areca, but I found it very expensive.
What adapter would you suggest in change of the failing Adaptec SAS adapter?
The LSI 9211-8i (and related) are very successful with Solaris when
run in IT mode and they are reasonably priced.
However, the first thing to determine if is if your Adaptec SAS
adapter was run in an IT native-LUN mode ("jbod") or if it was run in
a RAID mode which modified the data in a way proprietary to the
adaptor (hopefully the former).
