While not directly related to your FC tests, you could try to run a test (at least something as simple as DD) with NFS, just to see if that gives performance similar to local disks (or the LAN bandwidth bottleneck) or the worse results. Most relevant would be if you could test NFS over the same FC networking fabric, but I am not sure you can generally do that.
