Hi,

Yesterday I played a bit with iSCSI and CHAP on illumos. I was able to
configure unidirectional and bidirectional CHAP and it works.

I noticed that we do have "Authentication Type" for initiator-node, but I've no
idea what is the purpose of it.

# iscsiadm list initiator-node
Initiator node name: iqn.1986-03.com.sun:01:340000000847.50a37e86
Initiator node alias: telcontar
        Login Parameters (Default/Configured):
                Header Digest: NONE/-
                Data Digest: NONE/-
        Authentication Type: NONE <------------------------------
        RADIUS Server: NONE
        RADIUS Access: disabled
        Tunable Parameters (Default/Configured):
                Session Login Response Time: 60/-
                Maximum Connection Retry Time: 180/-
                Login Retry Time Interval: 60/-
        Configured Sessions: 1
#

When I tried to change it (either to chap or none), the change had no visible
effect. I didn't tried to look into the sources yet and the man page is not
very helpful.

Do you have any idea what is the "Authentication Type" for?

Thank you.
