Hi,
I had a strange problem on a zfs storage running at a customer site.
It is a CIFS server joined into an AD.
It has 4 shares, with different permissions, all of them have AdminUsers full
control.
It all worked for months.
This morning, they had no more access to only one share, the other three
running fine.
I accessed the domain controller through RDP and tried accessing the failing
share as
Administrator: no way, it was saying I didn't have access rights.
So, using chmod acls, I copied acls from a running share to the failing share,
restared samba,
set on/off smb share on the zfs filesystem: no way.
The only solution to let them work again was:
- turn off sharesmb on original zfs
- create a new zfs (with windows sharing options)
- copy over all the original content to the new one through cpio
- set again all acls through chmod -R
- share it on sharesmb with the original name
Everything worked fine again.
I'm keeping the failing zfs filesystem to check and understand what happened.
Any idea where to look?
Thanx for any help
Gabriele.
