Hi, We have a problem with the ixgbe driver. With an Intel 82599 EB chip (dual port optical 10 Gb/s), I get two messages (oi151a8): "unsupported 64 bit prefetch memory on pci-pci bridge [0/6/0]" "unsupported 64 bit prefetch memory on pci-pci bridge [0/8/0]"
I suspect that this is IO space of PCI devices above 4 GB. Our BIOS (Fujitsu RX 900 S2 homebrew) does not have an option to force the card below 4 GB. But it does have the option to disable IO space assignement by the BIOS, and the option to enable the option ROM. Disabling IO space assignment does not help, but if I enable the option ROM, the second message disappears, and I get at least one port below 4 GB, but the other one is still inaccessible (IO space assignement setting does not help). And 'dladm show-phys' shows 4 Ports instead of 2, only one has a link. Is there any trick/kernel parameter to get this card initialized completely below 4 GB ? Is there any hope that PCI assignements above 4 GB will work in the near future, as most BIOSes don't no longer offer the option to force it below ? All those cards should not be listed as "supported" in the illumos HCL, as this depends on the BIOS, not on illumos. Is there any (still orderable) 10 Gb/s Intel card that goes below 4 GB on such a BIOS ?
