This is mostly useful if you know someone with the same hardware and they can share some info about the device. But it's a good link to keep handy none-the-less. Not so much for laptops, but there is a list of (mostly server) hardware that works (usually none of the graphical stuff testes): https://wiki.smartos.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=755673 this may also be useful source to check certain bits of hardware. If you do find a laptop, perhaps make a similar page on our wiki. I sadly only have an example of none booting hardware.
