I was puzzled by the very long boot time last night.

Dec 1 01:11:28 batfs9994 genunix: [ID 936769 kern.info] mpt_sas29 is /pci@0
,0/pci8086,6f06@2,2/pci15d9,808@0/iport@v0
Dec 1 01:11:28 batfs9994 genunix: [ID 408114 kern.info] /pci@0
,0/pci8086,6f06@2,2/pci15d9,808@0/iport@v0 (mpt_sas29) online
Dec 1 01:36:26 batfs9994 genunix: [ID 454863 kern.info] dump on
/dev/zvol/dsk/zones/dump size 524176 MB
Dec 1 01:36:27 batfs9994 genunix: [ID 127566 kern.info] device
pciclass,030000@0(display#0) keeps up device sd@0,0(disk#0), but the fo
rmer is not power managed

As you can see, there's 25 minutes gap between mpt_sas message and the dump
device message.

Once I turned off smb/server (including set sharesmb=off for those zfs
datasets), it came back to normal boot time.

Why?

Thanks,
