This is correct. However, it seems Solaris is cosnidered a POSIX system.
On the other hand, one hand one can try to "port" the NetBSD implementation
that relies only on POSIX things. But this requires some more patching.

PS The configure scripts do not work as they are. The -D_XOPEN_SOURCE=500
switch is wrong it should be -D_XOPEN_SOURCE=600
