Problem:
# zpool add -f -o autotrim=on tank log mirror \
c16t55CD2E404B635BC8d0s1 c13t55CD2E404B612333d0s1
usage:
add [-fgLnP] [-o property=value] <pool> <vdev> ...
Notes:
- replacing "autotrim=on” with "ashift=12” works fine.
- also, "autotrim=on” works fine with `zpool create`
- so it seems like it might be a bug in `zpool add`...
Background:
- “tank" is a raidz2 made up of spinning rust.
- I want to add a ZIL/Slog comprised of SSDs (INTEL 3700s)
- Being SSDs, "autotrim=on” should be set (right?)
- "autotrim=on” should NOT be set for the whole zpool (right?)
AFAIK autotrim is a pool property so not on a per-vdev basis.
I could be wrong though, I'm no zfs expert.
