All moderation is performed in consultation with other core team members, including Dan who is chiefly responsible for handling conduct reports. > As for anyone else involved - my recommendation is not to engage unless you > are prepared with a thick skin. Or fire retardant attire. Threads like this are definitely not an appropriate forum to raise grievances about conduct, or about moderation. It is unlikely anybody will change their mind, but it is almost guaranteed that people will end up saying inappropriate things. If you have any issue with conduct in a community space, including any issues with moderation actions like bans, it is appropriate to make a private report to the conduct alias as outlined in the code of conduct: https://github.com/illumos/illumos-gate/blob/master/CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md Each report will be reviewed, and a determination made one way or another about what to do next. Please note, also, that absent a constructive appeal of a moderation action, the action must stand. Attempting to evade the action by, for example, creating many new accounts on the IRC server (especially with vulgar variations on the names of core team members) or by rotating your IP address to avoid detection, turns an issue of conduct into an issue of IT security for the project and will be dealt with as we would deal with a breach or a spam attack.
