[discuss] illumOS-based distros are very slow in emulation

I tried omniOS and openIndiana on qemu in macbook m1 and they were very slow 
and buggy. Is this expected? I tried other OSes that weren't that slow in 
emulation compared to virtualization on an x86 machine
