Just guessing that as part of the recent gdk pixbuf stuff and recreation of caches this has mixed up something.
As a benefit at least i now have the proper icons showing up for packages added after an initial install like geany, vlc etc. But maybe the theme itself has not survived some regressions and was left unnoticed.
