I'm away from my computer for the first day in I don't know HOW long and I miss a call out to Austin IxDA!
I would love to work with whomever may be interested in organizing Austin IxDA events. I don't have much interest in meeting up for the sake of "meeting up"; I want to brainstorm some ideas for really valuable events (invited speakers, conference summaries for those who couldn't attend, invited HR executives from local companies, etc.). Please contact me if you would like to join me in organizing something or if you represent another group that we can bring together. On a related note: I had lunch today with an Austin venture capitalist. He was very interested in having designers help with some of their portfolio companies and was completely unaware of the separation of design/engineering (as so many still are). One possibility might be to invite VC's to both speak about the challenges their portfolio's face from a product perspective and then educate them on software product design and what it can do for them...
