Title: Senior Manager, Interaction Design / User Experience for a leading national retailer Location: San Francisco Bay Area Compensation: low to mid 100's + substantial bonus
A leading national retailer is seeking a Senior Manager of Interaction Design/User Experience to lead and manage a group of Interaction Designers in defining and creating the user experience at its online store. In this leadership role, the Senior Manager of IA/UE will direct his/her team in developing long and short-term projects for various business units, with the goal of continuously improving the user experience. Responsibilities: * Direct, manage and mentor the interaction design team including daily work oversight as well as career development and annual performance reviews * Oversee all interaction design activities including creating wireframes, process flows, site maps, prototypes and functional specifications * Build key partnerships with peers in other business groups; i.e., Engineering, Product Management and Marketing * Direct competitive analysis and secondary research on project-related topics to better understand customer wants and needs * Provide Quality Assurance feedback with cross-functional teams prior to product launches Requirements: * 7+ of experience in Web-based information architecture or interaction design * 3+ years experience in developing information architecture for multiple business sites * 1-2 years of demonstrated leadership and team-building experience, with a proven ability to manage and motivate a 4-6 person staff * Demonstrated experience translating business requirements into effective information architecture and user experience strategies * Excellent organizational skills, follow-through and attention to detail * Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and communications skills * Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree Preferred) preferably in HCI, Information Science, design disciplines, or other relevant field; or related work experience If you feel you're qualified for this position, please email me a cover letter and Word doc or PDF version of your resume.
