Kinjal, one thing might be to tie your estimations to specific deliverables. Defining a project's discovery or research phase in terms of billable hours can be tricky. I've had better success indicating the milestones at which the client will receive a report, document, wireframe or prototype. Then you can build the necessary effort costs into that line item.
