Hi Oliver,

I've never tried to prototype a voice driven UI, but I'd imagine
you could build a wizard of oz prototype. Make it appear to respond
to voice by hooking up a bluetooth keyboard to control the interface
from a distance. Just listen to their voice commands and trigger the
appropriate responses, essentially substituting your brain for the
voice recognition software.

For prototyping motion detection, you might consider leveraging a Wii
controller. I've experimented with this and it's not too dificult to
sync a Wii controller with a computer, capture simple gestures and use
them to trigger interface responses.

You just have to hide the Wii controller inside whatever you're
building. So while this woudn't work to prototype something small,
it'd work for anything bigger than a Wii controller. Or... if
you're prototyping somthing tiny, you could go the wizard of oz
route by simply holding the Wii controller yourself and mimicing
whatever gestures the user executes.
