BlankJob Title: Senior Interaction Designer, Applications User Experience

Oracle is the first software company to develop and deploy 100 percent 
internet-enabled enterprise software across its entire product line: database, 
server, enterprise business applications, and application development and 
decision support tools.

Working with multidisciplinary development teams, the Sr. Interaction Designer 
will spearhead user interface design in conceptualization and design of Oracle 
Applications. 



Responsibilities include:

Working with strategy and product management teams to identify customer 
requirements 

Developing user mental models

Designing and prototyping user interfaces

Documenting and maintaining UI specifications and guidelines. 

Communicating with strategy and development teams to evangelize UI design 
directions and resolve design tradeoffs and implementation issues. 

Collaborate with usability engineers to conduct necessary research and support 
usability efforts throughout the standard development cycle. 

Mentoring junior designers and student interns

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced 
technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor 
individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. 
Preferred Qualifications: BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to 
functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

Proven track record in applying user-centered design processes and methods to 
product development.

Must have online portfolio available for review.

Two to five years of industry experience designing and prototyping UI for 
interaction on products that will be shipped.

Strong communication and people skills in working in a 
multi-disciplinary,collaborative environment.

Experience in designing web applications, not just web sites

Strong conceptual and analytical skills and demonstrated ability to prototype 
and design elegant UI solutions to user problems.

Bachelors or Masters degree in Industrial Design, Visual Design, Human-Computer 
Interaction, or related discipline. 

Domain knowledge of financials, human resources management, learning 
management, customer relationship management, supply chain management, business 
analytics, or project management a plus.
