Principal Duties and Essential Job Functions:
The Senior Usability Engineer will be an integral member of CSC’s
netXperience group that specializes in User Experience disciplines and
contributes to solutions serving commercial , non-profit and government
clients.
We are looking for a Web-savvy individual who can plan and execute
usability techniques throughout the project lifecycle for a wide variety
of Web-based solutions. This Usability Engineer will be responsible for:
· Gathering, reviewing, and prioritizing project requirements in
collaboration with business and technical teams
· Defining user needs, preferences, and behaviors through qualitative
and quantitative research/analysis
· Documenting usability goals, recommendations and standards/guidelines
at appropriate intervals in the project lifecycle
· Designing and prototyping user interfaces in multiple formats,
including HTML and PowerPoint
· Conducting remote and onsite usability testing
· Collaborating with creative teams and Web developers to build the
front-end interface
· Conducting heuristic usability evaluations and presenting results in
finished reports and/or PowerPoint presentations
· Supporting sales teams and representing CSC’s usability capabilities
to potential or current clients
· Collaborating with netXperience teammates to expand, evolve and
update techniques, work products and deliverables to reflect latest
trends and best practices
· Providing close attention to detail in quality reviews to ensure
proper integration of the UI with back-end functionality
Basic Qualifications:
· 6-8 years experience in UI design, including 4-5 years experience
with Web-based applications and Web sites
· HTML/CSS expertise required
· Dreamweaver experience preferred
· Able to create interaction design prototypes in multiple formats e.g.
Visio, PowerPoint , HTML
· Familiar with latest usability testing tools and technologies
· Experience designing and testing for ADA/Section 508 compliance
· Seasoned facilitator of focus groups and user testing sessions
· Familiar with techniques and best practices for qualitative and
quantitative analysis
· Strong business communications and writing skills, particularly with
analytical documentation and reports
· Cross-industry exposure
· Exposure to global solutions with multilingual components
· Active member of associations
· BS Human Factors Engineering or related field (e.g., Computer-Human
Interaction, Cognitive Psychology)
