You are responsible for creating a world-class visual UI style with a team of graphics designers and contractors, interaction designers and usability specialists, and planning and delivering high quality design in static and motion graphics, layout design, icon and symbol design, and design for transitions and animations. You can lead and motivate a design team and ensure a high quality output with a flexible and hands-on process. You lead the design team and manage resourcing and budgeting. While your concepts and plans are ambitious, you are able to reach them with a sound operational approach. You are a recognised expert in the design of visual user interfaces with a minimum of 10 years experience in the following: - visual design, icon and metaphor design, layout design, font design, information design - visual ergonomics - design tools - human-centered design methods, tools, and processes - people leadership skills - project management and subcontracting management Knowledge and expertise in the following fields is an additional plus: - internationalization, localization - software engineering methods and tools - web design, PC GUI design - web 2.0 technologies, widgets You have a degree in a relevant field but more than that your portfolio shows your innovative and high quality work. You are an open-minded and adaptable team player, and you have a positive outlook on life. You have a "can-do", delivery-oriented mindset. Your previous work experience includes art direction of a team of designers and you are confident at management, leadership and communication practices. Working under pressure comes easily to you, and you enjoy taking the initiative and leading your team when the opportunity arises. The location of this position is in Finland, Helsinki area.
