Dojo has been used on a few production apps (enterprise pre-packaged software) successfully. The latest releases supports complex vector graphics using their api. An example of a commercial product using it for vector graphics is TomSawyer<http://www.tomsawyer.com/home/index.php>- a flow charting tool.
Dojo would be one of my shortlisted candidates (along with Flex), if the product I was building had a lot of custom visualizations (charts, flow charting tool etc.,) and the consumption mechanism was the web. Silverlight also offers some of the same sophistication in this space.
