A blog planet is usually a community of some sort.  For example, there is a 
Science blog planet that aggregates blogs surrounding different science 
topics (from environmental science to cognitive psych).  HCI Planet 
aggregated many (tens? hundreds?) designer's blogs in one place to it was 
easier to read what was going on in the HCI world.
