I've been working on a couple experimental additions to the discussion list that I think are ready to see the light of day. They're designed to make it easier to selectively quote text from a thread into your replies from the website. Try the quoting bookmarklet for Safari and Firefox or the quote feature for iPhone and iPod Touch.
