I attended the Cooper U 4 day course this past December. It is well worth it in my book. I come from a User Centered Design and Usability background, so some of the topics that covered performing initial user research I was already pretty familiar with. However, seeing how to take the results from that research and then build not just persona's but conceptual designs was invaluable.
In the future I hope to attend their other two courses, Communicating Design and Visual Interface Design.
