Greetings, fellow Chicagoans (and anyone who happens to be passing through Chicago)! I am happy to announce our sixth local gathering (is this our half-year anniversary? I'll stop being a sap.) If you haven't been able to attend, you should... Every month a different topic is presented, and we open up the conversation for all to participate. The success of these events is easily attributed not only to the gracious hosts who open their doors each month to host and lead, but also to all of you for bringing your perspective and sharing. There is a lot of good work going on in our community, so here's your opportunity to see it for yourself. ------------------------------------------------------------
Topic: KIOSK, Designing for Self-Service in a Touch Economy As touch, gesturing and presence continue to become the norm and businesses seeks to connect with consumers in new and compelling ways, KIOSK or touch screen interfaces offer us a new playground for creating compelling experiences and markets. Large retail and hospitality businesses are increasingly looking for ways to create differentiated on presence experiences, even offering rewards for participation in the "touch" economy. As designers and marketers, how do we "touch" these users, what's ethical, how is designing for touch different, how do we dig into the many "touch" contexts. Topic Leaders & Host: Erik Klimczak & Marlon Smith, Clarity Consulting ( http://www.claritycon.com) Clarity Consulting is a full-service software development and design agency headquartered in Chicago.
