Position Overview 

Adobe is looking for a Client-Side UI engineer for prototypes to join
the adobe.com web team. The environment is fast-paced and deadline
driven, with an emphasis on collaboration and user-centered design and
development. You will work with information architects, designers and
other engineers to build web applications and interactive widgets for
use across our site. You have experience in all areas of front-end
development, from building static HTML pages to developing complex,
interaction-layer code and writing AJAX applications; and above all, a
passion for users, the web and technology. 

Responsibilities 

* Writing standards-compliant, complex CSS, XHTML and JavaScript 

* Developing production-level code as well as proof-of-concepts and UI
prototypes. 

* Developing client-side, interaction layer code while working with
back-end engineers on web applications 

* Integrating 3rd party solutions with the existing adobe.com
infrastructure 

Requirements 

* Strong command of CSS, HTML/XHTML, JavaScript, DOM, AJAX 

* Experience working on a large, highly trafficked site with knowledge
of performance and security issues 

* Experience with code optimization and software design principles 

* A passion for and experience in UI design and development 

* Excellent analytical and programming skills 

* Experience working with JavaScript frameworks (Prototype, YUI, Spry,
etc) 

* Experience with Dreamweaver and Dreamweaver templates 

* Familiarity with interaction pattern libraries 

* Knowledge of and experience publishing and parsing semantic XHTML and
microformats 

* Excellent writing skills 

* Excellent wiki editing skills on wiki systems such as MediaWiki 

* Experience with CVS and the Bugzilla bug tracking tool
