My favorite forum is "powered" by vBulletin - forums.cgsociety.com. There is plenty to nitpick there but I like the way it works and feels. Perhaps content and community trump usability. Posting is kludgy for sure but reading, browsing and searching work very well. The rich functionality is very ugly but very handy. Does usability depend on how a particular site sets it up? Could you point to a much more usable example.
