Senior User Interface Designer
The qualified Senior-level User Interface Designer candidate will work both
independently and alongside with other team members at a ~90 person
communications firm who fully appreciates UCD. Along with solid interaction
design skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills are
required.
Job description:
* Work closely with a cross-functional team to assess requirements, create
UI models, user task and interaction flows, screen designs, user-interface
interaction details that promote ease of use and optimize the user
experience
* Should have practical experience employing user centered design methods
* Solve conceptual problems, constantly tackling them with an innovate
approaches
* Create rich and cutting edge visual designs
* Balance user goals with business requirements
* Have experience in crafting documentation such as style guides
* Foster strong and collaborate interaction with Graphic Designers, User
Experience Designers, Developers and Web Producers
* Based on usability findings iterate with applicable teams
* Able to handle tight schedules
* Deep understanding of user focused design on smaller screens
* Functional understanding of typography
* Support/defend/articulate/champion innovative design approaches to build
consensus
* Brainstorm and refine interface concepts with UXD¹s, Web Producers &
Developers
* Prototyping & Testing: Create prototypes of interfaces to allow sufficient
user feedback prior to development
* Ongoing Enhancement: Revise designs and implementations based on
continuing user testing and customer feedback
Requirements:
* At least 3 years of solid industry experience designing GUI¹s for Web
sites and web applications
* Advanced degree in Human Computer Interaction, Design, or other related
discipline
* Must possess a solid working experience with appropriate design tools
including Photoshop, Illustrator, Visio, etc.
* Proven track record (and accompanying portfolio) for translating business
requirements and use cases into highly usable and innovative Web-based
applications
* Understanding of Web-based design and the implications of dynamic
interface design
* Evangelizing core usability constructs and design principles
