Hi Thomas,

When I was a graduate student, I worked on a simple cardsorting
prototype for a project on mobile computing. My team and I developed
a multi-stage cardsorting protocol and then put part of it online to
give us a larger reach for recruiting.

Each card movement was recorded (by IP address) and could be visually
reconstructed step-by-step later on when we viewed the results. It
wasn't bad, but we got more out of doing the card-sorts in person.
This kind of research isn't just about the data, it's about the
conversations the exercise promotes.
