This is a junior level position with the opportunity for advancement for individuals who excel. Job Summary The Junior Solutions Architect will iteratively specify, prototype, design and implement UI Skins, Information Architecture and User Experience for HiveLive customer communities based on the HiveLive LiveConnect platform. The ideal candidate will be experienced with, and have a passion for, social networking and interactive web communities. Key factors for success in this position are: the ability to creatively solve customer design problems and assimilate a variety of design challenges and tasks while ensuring deadlines are met, the ability to self-manage and excel under tight deadlines, the ability to communicate effectively with both internal stake holders and clients. This position works closely with Sales Staff, Community Managers, and Engineering to produce usable community constructs and templates that are visually integrated with existing client brands and highly useable in large community settings. Duties and Responsibilities Understand end-user requirements, and be able to translate them into highly usable community designs, in concert with Community Managers and Sales Executives Focus information layout and user interface design to meet client needs Work closely with Sales staff to determine client needs, skin demo communities and create community architecture Become an expert in the HiveLive platform and provide technical support for sales demos and calls Assist clients in creating community constructs and patterns based on best practices Work directly with clients and Community Managers to design and rollout new client communities Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Advanced to Expert level CSS2 - hand coding with strong knowledge of browser compatibility issues Ability to read and code XHTML to standards without WYSIWYG editing tool Advanced to Expert Photoshop / Illustrator CS3 skills Intermediate to Advanced Dreamweaver CS3 skills Extremely comfortable in a mixed computing environments (Mac, Windows, Linux, Unix) Basic knowledge of human cognitive development or response (such as psychology, education, library or information science), and good understanding of new media technology Knowledge of the web and its design limitations Knowledge of information design principles Exceptional portfolio of work that demonstrates elegant workflow solutions Excellent analytical, oral, written, and visual communication skills Ability to collaborate actively & effectively on multidisciplinary teams Ability to quickly familiarize with goals and integrate style into project identity Passion for User Experience Design and solving large community design problems Ability to self-manage multiple projects and work within deadlines Ability to generate and present creative ideas and solutions to complex problems Strong attention to detail Color vision including color discrimination Educational and Experience Requirements Bachelors degree (BFA preferred) in interaction design, graphic design or related field. 1 - 3 years experience in User Interface Design, Information Design and Design for large online communities Thanks Sean [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.hivelive.com <http://www.hivelive.com/> No phone calls please ________________________________________________________________ Welcome to the Interaction Design Association (IxDA)!
