Description of Position The user interface designer will apply their skills to developing concepts for user interface designs on enterprise mobility products and will support senior designers on the development of user interfaces through all stages of product development. The user interface designer will participate in collaborative projects as a member of high-energy multidisciplinary teams including other researchers, industrial designers, and engineers. The individual could interact with customers as part of generative research activities. Specific Knowledge/Skills Knowledge of relevant design software is critical including Photoshop, Illustrator, Dream weaver, Flash or their equivalents. Exposure to human factors research methodologies relevant to designing user interfaces would be an asset. The Innovation and Design team is a strategic part of the Enterprise Mobility Business and includes the disciplines of industrial design, user experience design, design research and advanced product development. This includes handheld products with both hardware and software UI challenges as well as web based solutions used primarily for device deployment and management. Our H2 innovation work focuses on de-risking new technologies or new market opportunities before products are committed to development. This exploration is conducted in close collaboration with product divisions. The innovation & Design group also facilitates a division wide innovation pipeline process and actively pitches and prototypes new product ideas.
