Some years ago when usability was a strange word in Brazil and we didn't have the time or budget to perform traditional user testing, a colleague and I run a series of usabilty tests in field for a dozen cellphone games, spending one day for each game.
In the mornings, we went to public places where it was most likely to find people with our gamer profile. After the approach, we made sure the user was really representative by asking a couple of questions, and then the test began. I facilitated the 'session' and my colleague took notes and recorded the audio. It was great when we had users in pairs talking about the game as they played it. We conducted circa of 6 testes in the mornings and after lunch we discussed about the notes and check them against the audio. In the end of the afternoons we sent the reports to the team. Two memorable weeks of guerrilla that opened several doors later :-) Regards, *Filipe Levi* User researcher at CESAR UXnet ambassador in Brazil +55 81 99240791 | mobile +55 81 31345131 | office filipelevi.com On Thu, Jul 3, 2008 at 4:43 AM, Rune Thaarup Hoeegh <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Regarding: > http://www.ixda.org/discuss.php?post=30937 > > In my company we have very good experiences using this method: > > http://portal.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=1028050 > > The Instant Data Analysis (IDA) allows us to conduct a usability evaluation > with 5 users per day and have feedback to the developers ready the next > day. > The IDA method strengths is that the most important usability issues will > be > found and communicated to the developers in a very fast manner.
